Albert H. Raymond Jr., 87, died at his home in Florida on Nov. 30, 2010.
Raymond was a devoted and loving husband who was an inspiration to all who knew him. He began his career as a co-op for IBM in Endicott, N.Y., and worked in Kingston and Poughkeepsie, N.Y., before he transferred to Boca Raton, Fla. He retired in 1988, with 42 years of service. Raymond was a member of the Kingston Lions Club and the IBM Quarter Century Club. He loved the arts and enjoyed the theater and music. He was also an avid reader.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby (Shaw) Raymond and Albert H. Raymond Sr.; his first wife and the mother of his children, Rosemarie McCarthy; sisters Nancy Wesson and Priscilla Mandig, and a beloved brother, Lyle. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dayle Carpino Raymond; children, Betsy of Milford, Del., Cynthia Silkworth and Susan Gibbs of Ocean View, Del., and Bradley, Christopher and Jonathan; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Vera Porter, and a brother, Sears, both of Burlington, Vt., and Carol Petrie of Apopka, Fla.
A memorial service was to be held in the future at Calvary United Methodist Church in Littleton, N.C. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Raymond’s memory to Hospice By the Sea; 1531 W.
