John J. Stamm, 79, of Bethany Beach, formerly of Baltimore County, Md., died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del.
Stamm obtained registration as a professional engineer and practiced civil engineering and surveying for 44 years at the state, county and private practice in Maryland. He enjoyed retirement in Bethany Beach, where he particularly enjoyed playing golf with his VFW comrades and took pleasure walking along the beach.
Stamm is survived by his devoted wife, Grace C. (Volz) Stamm; sons, Jeffrey, Matthew and Gregory Stamm; daughter, Jennifer Jones; stepsons, Gary Snyder and Joel Snyder; step-daughter, Laurel Collins; sister, Ann Thomas; brother, Edward Stamm; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
A memorial gathering for friends and family is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at the Miller Funeral Home; 6415 Belair Rd.; Baltimore, Md., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial was to be private.
