Town of Ocean View: Voter Registration

The annual election of the Town of Ocean View will be held between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Town Hall located at 32 West Avenue.

This notice will serve as a reminder for Ocean View residents who have not already registered to vote in the Town’s annual municipal election that the registration period is open until 4:30 p.m. on March 28, 2011. Any resident who has not voted in the Town of Ocean View’s election for the past 2 consecutive years in which there was an election must re-register in order to be eligible to vote in the April 9, 2011, election. You may register on the second floor of the Wallace A. Melson Administration and Public Safety Building located at 201 Central Avenue between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday. You may also call the Town at 302 539-9797, ext. 101 if you wish to request an Ocean View voter registration application or you may download a Voter Registration Form from the Town’s Web Site ( Identification will be required when you register to vote; therefore, if you chose to return your Voter Registration Form by mail, you must include some form of identification with the form.

The qualifications for Ocean View voters are:
• Minimum age of 18 years
• Citizen of the United States
• Ocean View residency for at least 6 months immediately preceding
the election

Absentee ballots will be available for any registered voter who is not able to vote at the Town Hall on April 9, 2010. Please contact the Town of Ocean View at 302 539-9797, ext. 102 or by email at after March 10, 2011, to receive information about obtaining an absentee ballot.

All residents who wish to vote in annual municipal elections must register with the Town -- County or State registration does not entitle residents to vote in Town elections.
