Sealed bids will be accepted by the Sussex County Council on or before 3:00 p.m. on March 11, 2011 for the purchase of the following property:
That portion of the property identified on Sussex County Tax Map as 134 12.00 2022 and currently known as 16 Daisey Avenue, Lot 16, Foreside Commons, Ocean View, Baltimore Hundred, Sussex County, Delaware, being approximately 75 feet wide and 242 feet deep beginning 100 feet back from Daisey Avenue. Purchaser understands that the portion of the parcel being approximately 75 feet wide and 100 feet deep fronting on Daisey Avenue shall be retained by Sussex County for the purpose of operating the pump station currently located thereon and is not included in this sale. The subject property does not have any road frontage and is landlocked. Any conveyance herein shall be subject to the Purchaser satisfying the contingencies set forth below.

Contingencies/Conditions to be met by Purchaser: Purchaser, at his or her expense, shall be required to obtain any and all approvals, including, but not limited to, (1) obtaining a variance for Sussex County to continue to operate the utility pumping station as deemed necessary by the Sussex County Council, (2) subdivision approval to subdivide the parcel such that Sussex County shall own that portion of the current parcel being approximately 75 feet wide and 100 feet deep fronting on Daisey Avenue with Sussex County conveying the remainder thereof (being approximately 75 feet wide and 242 feet deep beginning 100 feet back from Daisey Avenue) to Purchaser, and (3) any and all other approvals that may be necessary to accomplish the foregoing purposes.

Bid packages are also available online at www.sussexcountyde.gov/publicnotices. All bids must be accompanied by a deposit of 10% of the bid amount in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check, or money order made payable to “Sussex County Council”. The successful bidder’s deposit will be applied toward the purchase price. All others will be returned. Closing shall occur within thirty (30) days after approval of sale.
