Detectives probe home invasion

The Delaware State Police this week were investigating a home-invasion-style robbery that occurred late Saturday night in Millsboro.

Police said the incident happened about 11:50 p.m. on Oct. 29, as a male suspect and a female suspect forced their way into a home located in the 28000 block of Route 24 in Millsboro. Once inside, they said, the suspects confronted and assaulted the 54-year-old male resident and 57-year-old female resident of the home. They then obtained cash and prescription medication from the homeowners before fleeing the residence in an unknown direction, police noted.

Both victims were injured during the assault and were transported to Beebe Medical Center, where they were treated, and were then released.

The suspects were described as a Hispanic man between 5 feet, 4 inches and 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing between 145 and 155 pounds, wearing all black clothing, a black ski mask and armed with a semi-automatic handgun; and a black woman, between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing between 110 and 130 pounds, with black hair that had blonde streaks in the bangs, armed with a hammer.

The Delaware State Police are asking anyone who may have any information about the incident to contact Detective Stephen Kelly at Troop 4 at (302) 856-5850.
