Hickory Street to be closed for railroad track repairs


The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) notified Frankford-area residents that Norfolk Southern Railroad will close the railroad crossing on Hickory Street between Clayton Avenue and Route 113 in Frankford this coming week for repairs to the crossing. The crossing will be closed at 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, and is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, pending weather.

The detour route westbound is Clayton Avenue to Daisey Street onto Route 113 and returning to Hickory Street. Eastbound, motorists should detour from Route 113 to Daisey Street onto Clayton Avenue and back to Hickory Street. DelDOT will post signs to alert motorists of the closure and the accompanying detour routes.
