Following a long-standing tradition, the Southeast Sussex Ministerium will hold an Ecumenical Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, March 31, at 6 a.m., at the bandstand in Bethany Beach. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held in the sanctuary of St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Garfield Parkway (Route 26).
St. George’s United Methodist Church in Clarksville is scheduled to provide the preacher for the Easter Sunrise Service, the Rev. Randy Smith. Other churches in the Ministerium will provide logistical support, prayer leaders and scripture readers.
The service will commence with the sounding of the shofar — a ram’s horn used to summon the Israelites to assembly — by Brett Buschler. Music will be provided by The Father’s House in Frankford.
All special offerings taken at the worship service will be given to the Pyle Emergency Center, to assist members of the community in need.
