Part of Route 54 to be closed starting Monday


The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) this week advised motorists of daytime lane closures on Route 54/Road 58/Lighthouse Road in the Selbyville area for the installation of a crossroad pipe at Sand Cove Road (Route 394).

The project will begin on Monday, Sept. 9, at 7 a.m. and is anticipated to be completed by Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 3 p.m., weather permitting. Rain dates will be Wednesday, Sept. 11, through Friday, Sept. 13.

Westbound traffic will be detoured as follows: Route 54 to Zion Church Road (Road 382) to Johnson Store Road (Road 382A) to Dickerson Road (Road 389) to Johnson Road (Road 390) to Route 54.

Eastbound traffic will be detoured as follows: Route 54 to Johnson Road (Road 390) to Dickerson Road (Road 389) to Johnson Store Road (Road 382A) to Zion Church Road (Road 382) to Route 54.

Access to local residents and emergency response vehicles will be provided at all times, officials said.
