One local church is gearing up for a complimentary Thanksgiving dinner being offered to the public. Ocean View Church of Christ will welcome the community for a “come-n-go” Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, Nov. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. All are being invited — individuals, couples, families — especially those with no other place to go. The event is free.
“For many people, Thanksgiving, is a time for festive family gatherings and happy times; others dread thinking about it as they are alone and have no place to go. Many people in our community are alone or separated from their families,” said Gregg Wilgus, preacher of the church. “We want them to know there is a place for them at our table.”
The traditional turkey dinner, with all the fixings and dessert, will be served in the Family Life Center on the church property at 55 West Avenue in Ocean View.
“If you’d like to join us for Thanksgiving dinner at Ocean View Church of Christ, please let us know so we can be sure there is enough food,” Wilgus said. The meal is free, but those attending must have a reservation to be assured of a seat. Reservations can be made by calling (302) 539-7468.
