Chamber, QRCF to welcome New Year with full slate

The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation (QRCF) and the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce a day-long series of events on New Year’s Day 2014: the 3rd Annual Hair of the Dog Run and the 18th Annual Leo Brady Exercise Like the Eskimos.

Ring in the new year at these fun, family friendly events which support several terrific organizations and charities. Proceeds benefit the local non-profits by providing grants and scholarships to local students.

The bow WOW WOW! Hair of the Dog 5k and 10k run starts at 9:30 a.m. on Garfield Parkway and Atlantic Avenue in downtown Bethany Beach and ends at the Bandstand on the Bethany Beach Boardwalk. This is a time-chipped race through Races2Run.

The bone-ified barktastic event features overall and age group awards, a 5k walk/run with your leashed dog division, and a post race party at Mango’s on the Boardwalk and Garfield Parkway in Bethany Beach. 10k finishers will receive finisher medals. Pre-registered runners by Dec. 23 are guaranteed a technical shirt.

After the Hair of the Dog Run and party, another exciting Bethany Beach event: 18th Annual Leo Brady Exercise Like the Eskimos, sponsored by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce. Brave the chilly water at this fun and family-oriented event. Splashers plunge at high noon and all who register receive a commemorative towel!
