The State Route 26 Mainline Improvement Project continues in Clarksville.
On Monday, Feb. 10, to Friday, Feb. 21, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., the eastbound lane of Route 26 will be closed from Irons Lane to Route 17 (Roxana Road) for clearing and grubbing (removing trees, shrubs, stumps, and rubbish).
Detours are not required. Traffic will alternate, as directed by flaggers.
Meanwhile, there will be no lane closures for utility relocations from Clarksville to Ocean View, or for sewer force main relocation from Assawoman Canal to Central Avenue.
Motorists should drive with caution, slow down in work zones, and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
George & Lynch is building this 4-plus-mile widening project from Assawoman Canal in Bethany Beach to St. George’s U.M. Church in Clarksville. Foul weather like rainstorms and blizzards could push the schedule further than the September of 2016 end date.
