Following a longstanding tradition, the Southeast Sussex Ministerium will hold an Ecumenical Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 20,, at 6 a.m., at the bandstand in Bethany Beach.
In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held in the sanctuary of St. Ann Catholic Church on Garfield Parkway.
Rob Welsh, the president of the Ministerium, will be the preacher. Other churches in the Ministerium will provide logistical support, prayer leaders and scripture readers. The service will commence with the sounding of the shofar — a ram’s horn used to summon the Israelites to assembly — by Brett Buschler. Music will be provided by Bethe’l Tabernacle Church in Clarksville.
A special offering will be taken at the worship service, to be given to the Pyle Emergency Center to assist members of the community in need.
