The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that The Cottage Café recently committed to being this year’s Presenting Sponsor for the Annual Leo Brady Exercise Like the Eskimos Plunge on New Year’s Day.
This is the 19th year of the tradition, drawing hundreds of participants and spectators to kick off the new year. It is held in conjunction with the 5k/10k Hair of the Dog Run, a joint collaboration with the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation.
Individual and team registrations are currently being accepted for the plunge. Online registration closes Dec. 28, at 4 p.m. Long-sleeve tech shirts will be guaranteed to those who pre-register by Dec. 15, so do not delay. The team with the most members will win the coveted Iceberg Trophy for all the glory, honor and prestige that accompany it.
Packet pick-up will take place at Mango’s Restaurant in downtown Bethany on Wednesday, Dec. 31, between noon and 4 p.m. Brave plungers will gather on New Year’s Day at the Bethany Beach Bandstand for check-in and the plunge will occur at high noon. A post-plunge party will be held at The Cottage Café. Additional event sponsors include supporting sponsor, Coastal Tented Events, and Media Sponsor, Coastal Point.
