Plantation Lakes to host Grand Opening Golf Scramble on June 4

Golfers are being invited to play in the free Grand Opening Golf Scramble on Saturday, June 4, at Plantation Lakes, Lennar’s golf resort community in Millsboro. The event celebrates the opening of the first nine holes of the community’s Arthur Hills Championship Golf Course and will showcase the homes and lifestyle available at Plantation Lakes.

“This is a wonderful course that offers memorable play for golfers of all abilities,” said Jeremy Martin, area sales manager for Lennar’s Maryland division. “We’re excited to open the course to the public, and to showcase the amenities and golf privileges available at Plantation Lakes.”

The Grand Opening Golf Scramble will feature music and food, with prizes awarded for the longest drive, closest to the pin and other contests. Local dignitaries will be on hand to cut the ribbon that officially opens the course for play.

Golfers can choose from a 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. start. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Space is limited and must be reserved in advance. RSVP to Sue Clow at sue.clow@lennar.com or (302) 934-6541.

There also will be six model homes open for tours, for golfers considering buying a home. Plantation Lakes is a golf-benefitted community. The concept first evolved in the south, in such places as Florida, and is becoming an increasingly popular model all over the nation, representatives noted.

Plantation Lakes, they said, is Delaware’s only golf-benefitted community. A select number of homes come with a perpetual Golf & Country Club membership. Members can enjoy unlimited tee times, tee-time priority and advanced booking privileges. Professional golf instruction, junior summer golf camps and weekly clinics also will be available.

Plans are to unveil 18 holes of championship golf at Plantation Lakes in the fall of 2017 or spring of 2018. Construction on the Grand Clubhouse will begin in 2017 or 2018.

Golf is only one of the resort amenities that Plantation Lakes will offer. In addition to the Grand Clubhouse, residents will have their choice of multiple pools and activity centers, tennis and pickle ball, billiards, card rooms, lifestyle clubs, fitness and walking trails.

Plantation Lakes is located at 27539 Belmont Boulevard in Millsboro, along Route 24, just west of Route 113. The community is less than 20 miles inland from the Delaware beach resorts, and within three hours of Baltimore; Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; and southern New Jersey.

Lennar has incorporated a variety of value-added details at Plantation Lakes, including its fuel source. Most Sussex County communities depend upon propane, they noted, but Plantation Lakes is fueled by natural gas, which they said is an economical power source that will keep monthly utility bills at all-time lows.

Lennar also offers its own mortgage and title services, via Universal American Mortgage Company (UAMC) and North American Title Company, respectively. Pricing at Plantation Lakes starts in the mid-$100,000’s for townhomes and in the mid-$200,000’s for villas and single-family homes. Homes feature two to four bedrooms, two to 3.5 bathrooms and one- to three-car garages. Single-family homes include full basements.
