On June 9, the First State Detachment of the Marine Corps League, Ocean View, will hold its 11th Annual Golf Tournament at the Ocean City Golf Club, Seaside Course, 11401 Country Club Drive, Berlin, Md. The fundraising event will help assist military members, veterans, their families, youth groups and those less fortunate in the local Delaware and Maryland communities.
One example of the beneficiaries is the Injured Marine Semper Fi fund, a non-profit fund set up to provide immediate financial support for injured and critically ill members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. The fund helps provide: service member and family support, specialized and adaptive equipment, adaptive transportation, adaptive housing support, education and career transition assistance, PTSD and TBI support, and therapeutic arts.
The tournament will begin with registration at 7:45 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start. All golfers are welcome, regardless of skill level. The cost is $90 per player, which includes: golf and cart, lunch and beverage, door prizes, gift bag and a special hole-in-one contest.
