Paul Andrew Denault, 72, of Bethany Beach, Del., the beloved husband of Faith M. Denault, passed away after a brief battle with leukemia, on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, the day of his 52nd wedding anniversary.
Denault was born in 1944 in Oneida, N.Y., and raised in Takoma Park and Silver Spring, Md. He graduated from Northwood High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1967. After a long career and raising his family near Washington, D.C., he and Faith moved fulltime to Bethany Beach.
Before his illness, Denault enjoyed a robust life, creating a second career, making lots of new friends and spending time with his family. He leaves a legacy of love and laughter to all who knew him.
Denault was preceded in death by his parents, Milton F. and Dorothy L. Denault. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Michele Rafferty and her husband, Patrick, and Christi Hanrahan and her husband, John; 12 grandchildren, Erin, Aidan, Liam and Kelsey Rafferty, and Leo, Faith, Jack, Hope, Johnny, Grace, Joy and Tommy Hanrahan; his sister, Suzi Thompson and her spouse, Terry; his brothers David, and Tom and his spouse, Carol; and his nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, Del. Interment will be private.
