James G Motter, 52, of Selbyville, Del., passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at home. He was born on April 1, 1964, son of the late Marlin and Margaret (Gipe) Motter.
Motter was a graduate of Big Spring High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, after which he was honorably discharged. He was a Master Carpenter, honing his natural talents and abilities throughout his life, and he was an avid fan and supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a devoted fiancé, step-dad, brother and friend, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.
In addition to his parents, Motter was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Motter.
He is survived by his fiancée, Deborah Gordon; his stepchildren, Devon and LeAnn Gordon of Selbyville, Del., Corynne Rutz and husband, Aaron, of Boiling Springs, Pa., and Cody Romberger and wife, Makayla, of Carlisle, Pa.; his brothers, Marlin H. Motter Jr. and wife, Stacey, of Newville, Pa., David Motter of Shippensburg, Pa., Mitchell Motter and wife, Janet, of Carlisle, Pa., and Raymond Motter of Lancaster, Pa.; his sisters, Judy Kann of Shippensburg, Pa., Debra Kail of Carlisle, Pa., and Diane Breya of Lewistown, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Watson-Yates Funeral Home and Crematorium, a Parsell Family Funeral Home, Seaford, Del.
