Michael G. Zonko, 70, of Milton, Del., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on Sept. 12, 1946.
Zonko was a U.S. Navy veteran, after which, he began work at Delaware Department of Transportation as an equipment operator. He retired in 2008. He was a member of Moose Lodge 646. Zonko was a happy-go-lucky, good-natured, caring and lovable man. He loved kids and animals. He adored his canine companion, Abby. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Zonko is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, and her two children, Matt Johnson and his wife, Melody, and Pam Conaway and her companion, Lorenzo West; two grandchildren, Justin Johnson and Cody Kidwell; a brother, Charles and his wife, Bonnie; two nephews, Michael and Jeffrey Zonko; an uncle, Earl Lingo with his wife, Doris Ann, of Georgetown, Del.; and an aunt, Doris Williamson of Nanticoke, Md. His mother, Kathryn Lingo Zonko, preceded him in death.
A memorial service was scheduled for Nov. 2, 2016, at the Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Del. Inurnment with military honors followed at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
