W. Chudleigh “Chud” Reese, 81, passed away on Dec. 8, 2016. He was born to H. Wallace Reese and Henrietta Melson Reese on Sept. 3, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pa. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a devoted friend.
Reese enjoyed growing up an only child surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He graduated from Haverford High School and received an associate’s degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to moving to Ocean View, Del., Reese lived in south Florida for 33 years, and he loved the weather. He was very involved at the United Methodist Church of Coral Springs and cherished the many friends he made there.
Reese spent his career in the banking and information technology fields, but found his true calling in retirement, which allowed him even more time to volunteer and help others. He was an active member of the St. Matthews By-the-Sea United Methodist Church and the Lord Baltimore Lions Club, and he spent many hours ringing the bell for the Salvation Army in front of the G&E grocery store in Ocean View. He truly loved making friends and spending time with them.
Reese is survived by his wife, A. Kaye Reese; two daughters, Leanne J. Reese and her husband, Paul Litton, and Diane K. Sweet and her husband, Kevin; five grandchildren, Emily, Max, Jake, Wyatt and Paityn; and many extended family members and friends.
A memorial service was scheduled for Dec. 11, 2016, at St. Matthews By-the-Sea U.M. Church, Fenwick Island, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggested memorial donations to the St. Matthews By-the-Sea U.M. Church, to Lord Baltimore Lions Club or to the Salvation Army.
