Doris Dombrowski Booth, 74, of Millsboro, Del., passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at the Delaware Hospice Center. She was born Jan. 27, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Peter Dombrowski and Florence Keough Dombrowski.
Booth was raised in Philadelphia, graduated from West Catholic High School and worked at Bell Atlantic Telephone Co. in Philadelphia until she started her family. After moving to Delaware in 1982, she worked as a waitress at several restaurants in the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach area. She enjoyed the water, sunshine, crabbing and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Booth was also preceded in death by her husband, Edwin F. Booth, in 2013. She is survived by five children, Karen McCaffrey and her companion, Butch Hicks, of Millsboro, Connie Baker and her husband, Paul, of Georgetown, Del., Christine Welsh and her husband, John, of Millsboro, Teresa McCaffrey of Millsboro and Peter McCaffrey and his wife, Julie, also of Millsboro; three stepchildren, Edwin F. Booth III and his wife, Nancy, of Georgetown, Lynda Sparks and her husband, Paul, also of Georgetown, and Kimberly Zionkowski of Maryland; five sisters, Janet Deal and her husband, Harry, Carol Arbach and her husband, John, Nancy Gansky and her husband, Lou, Marie Thomas and her husband, John, and Teresa Watanabe and her husband, Mike; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her lifelong sorority members, who she kept in touch with throughout her life; and extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, Del., with viewing and visitation from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
