Mary Grace Pacen, 80, of Bishopville, Md., died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. Pacen was born in Washington, D.C., and was the daughter of the late Robert Merson and Ethel (Geiger) Merson.
Pacen was a homemaker, a member of the Glendale Rec. Center and a member of Hillmeade Homemakers, coached Little League teams, helped with Brownie troops, taught ceramics and macramé, and loved to crochet. In her later years, she became an avid card player and looked forward to her Wednesday-night card games with the ladies in the community.
Pacen was preceded in death by her husband, Joel W. Pacen, in 2016. She is survived by two sons, Frederick K. Pacen and his wife, Joanne, of Davidsonville, Md., and Timothy A. Pacen and his wife, Donna Jean, of Sykesville, Md.; a daughter, Leslie J. Pacen and her husband, Lee Todd III, of Odenton, Md.; a brother, Robert “Bob” Merson of Laurel, Md.; and four grandchildren, Brian W. Pacen, Lindsay A. Pacen, Samantha J. Turner and Andrew J. Turner.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, Del. Friends may call one hour before the service.
