David K. Conrad, 87, formerly of New Cumberland, Pa., passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017. He passed peacefully at his home, with his loving wife of 67 years, Donna Fetrow Conrad, at his side. He was born in Harrisburg, Pa., on March 10, 1929, to the late John L. Conrad and Helene M. Conrad.
Conrad was a 1947 graduate of New Cumberland High School and attended Gettysburg College. For many years, he was a real estate developer and homebuilder in the Harrisburg area. With his passion for the water and for boating, Conrad felt fortunate to finish his career owning and operating Conrad’s Marine Basin in Goldsboro, Pa., where he raised his family for 25 years.
In addition to his parents, Conrad was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberlea Conrad, and his brother, John L. Conrad Jr. He is survived by his wife, Donna Fetrow Conrad; his son, David K. Conrad Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Susan Conrad; a brother-in-law, George H. Fetrow; sisters-in-law Sandy House Fetrow and Janice Fetrow Stewart; granddaughters Laura and Elizabeth Conrad; step-granddaughters Sarah Beck and Emily Wernsdorfer; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were to be private, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were being provided by Melson’s Funeral Services, Millsboro, Del. Burial will be privately held at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, Pa.
