Ralph “Kenny D.” Doughty, 82, of Sandy Landing, Dagsboro, Del., passed away on Jan. 21, 2017. He was in death, as he was in life, singing praises to the Lord.
Doughty was a graduate of Ohio State University. He loved his career in teaching, received a national award and was honored at the White House for his achievement in teaching math in a creative way. Doughty loved writing and singing gospel music. He was a member of St. George’s United Methodist Church in Clarksville, Del.
Doughty is survived by his wife, Rachel Holt Townsend; his son, Eric; his stepsons, Chet Townsend and his wife, Shirley, and Wes Townsend and his wife, Elainia; six step-grandchildren; and his canine companion, Teddy.
A service will be held on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, Del.
