John R. “Bob” “B.S.” Shanahan, 77, of Frankford, Del., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, in his home. He was born April 26, 1939, in Baltimore, Md., son of the late Joseph William Shanahan and Catherine (D’Anthony) Shanahan.
Shanahan proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the former owner of Crossroad Carryout in Bishopville, Md., and worked for several years as a truck driver.
He loved woodworking, carpentry and turkey shooting and was an avid lighthouse collector.
Shanahan is survived by his wife of 20 years, Judy E. (Lewis) Shanahan; seven children, Chelsea Shanahan and her fiancé, Ryan Ballard, Michael Davidson and his wife, Vanessa, Karen Prettyman and her husband, Paul, Linda Davidson, Joey Shanahan, Patrick Shanahan and Kim Shanahan; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was scheduled for Feb. 4, 2017, at Melson Funeral Services, Frankford, Del. Interment was to be private.
