Mary Lee West Middleton, 84, passed away in the care of her family and Compassionate Care Hospice on her birthday, Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017. She was born Feb. 19, 1933, in Church Hill, Md., to the late Edward and Cora Middleton.
Middleton was a versatile worker, having served at Paramount Poultry and then as a clerk at Charles & Dot’s Market, and then at Three Bells market for another 12 years.
She loved crocheting, reading and spending time with family. She also enjoyed auctions.
Middleton is survived by her husband, James T. Middleton; her children, Ronald West Sr. and his wife, Deborah, Harvey G. West, Bonnie Adams and her husband, Martin, Eddie West and Stephen West; a brother, Gene Middleton and his wife, Tamara; her grandchildren, Ronald West Jr., Robert West, Christina Ferenczi, Angela Adams Canon and Martin Adams; 11 great-grandchildren; and her beloved pet, Freddie the dog.
A funeral service and celebration of Middleton’s life will be held on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at 1 p.m., at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, Del. Friends may call starting at 11 a.m. for viewing and visitation. The Rev. Troy Dennis will officiate, and interment is to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, also in Millsboro.
