Billy L. Taylor, 84, of Berlin, Md., died Friday, March 24, 2017, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Md. He was born in Newark, Md., son of the late Cyrus Taylor and Louella (Bowden) Taylor.
Taylor retired from Mack Trucks, had been employed with the Department of Public Works with the Town of Berlin and most recently owned RDAD Seafood. He was a 47-year member and past president of Berlin Volunteer Fire Company; Worcester County (Md.) Fire Police; a founder of the United Mobile Sportsfishermen; life member and past president of the AMSA; a member of the North Carolina Beach Buggy Association and Cape Lookout Mobile Sportsfishermen; and historian and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #123; and was an avid fisherman.
Taylor was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Taylor; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Wanda Taylor; his brothers Randy, Earl, Harry and Calvin Taylor; and his sister Joyce Corron. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ginger V. Taylor of Berlin, Md.; two sisters, Louise Allen and Esther McGrath; two stepdaughters, Tina Jewell and Carol Jewell and her husband, Richard Gibson; grandchildren Michelle Hudson and her husband, Wesley Hudson Sr., Kristal Baker, Rachel Wehrle, Douglas Wehrle, Dalton Henderson and Alexis Gibson; great-grandchildren Wesley Hudson Jr., Cody Hudson, Chase Baker and Bryce Baker; a great-great-granddaughter, Kelly Mae Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Berlin Volunteer Fire Company in Berlin, Md.
