Richard A. Cobo, 83, of Millsboro, Del., passed away on April 9, 2017.
He served during the Korean War with the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Cobo was a Baltimore City firefighter for 33 years. While there, he campaigned for muscular dystrophy with “Fill the Boot” donations. After retiring from the fire department he resided in Millsboro, Del.
He was beloved husband of Kathleen McGill Cobo; devoted father of Monica Corwin, Pamela Cobo, Melissa Wilson, Hollee Sifford, Stephen and Michael Cobo, and stepfather of Mary Ann and Anthony DeNicolis; loving grandfather of Niki Tuttle, Michael Pearce, Phil and Dave Wilson, Jessica Burrell, Keith Sifford, Jonathan, Josh, Carly, Lily, Emma and Aubree Cobo, Morgan and Brian McFaul and seven great-grandchildren; and brother of Jack Cobo and the late Thomas Cobo.
A visitation was scheduled for April 18, 2017, at McComas Funeral Home, Bel Air, Md., with a Mass of Christian burial on April 19 at St. Mary Magdalen Mission, Bel Air, Md. A committal service will follow at a later date at the Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 Padonia Road, Timonium, Md.
