Richard T. “Rick” Frisby Jr., 72, of Bethany Beach, Del., formerly of West Chester, Pa., passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in West Chester, Pa., on Aug. 3, 1944, son of the late Richard T. Frisby Sr. and Gertrude Marie (McMenamin) Frisby.
He retired as the assistant postmaster at Lewes Post Office in 1993 after a total of 25 years in the industry. After his “retirement,” Frisby worked at the Lowe’s in Lewes, Del., and also for ResortQuest in Bethany Beach as a pool technician, retiring completely in 2012.
Frisby was a lifetime member of the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company, serving as a fire policeman. He was also an avid surf fisherman and also enjoyed making fishing poles and tackle.
Frisby is survived by his wife of 48 years, Josephine H. (Bradley) Frisby; a daughter, Lisa Bennett and her husband, Frank S. Bennett III, of Frankford, Del.; and two grandchildren, Aaron Bennett and Colby Bennett, both of Frankford.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 28, 2017, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, Del., with memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
