Bethany Beach native Andrew Ternahan and the Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team are heading back to the NCAA Division III finals for a chance to defend their 2016 title, with a 17-5 quarterfinal win over No. 9 Cabrini on Wednesday, May 17, and 12-11 semi-final victory over No. 7 Denison on Sunday, May 21.
In the Wednesday matchup against Cabrini, Ternahan tallied a goal and an assist while playing long-pole midfield for the No. 1 ranked Seagulls.
The Stephen Decatur High School (Berlin, Md.) graduate and 2016 All-American selection now has three goals and six assists on his senior season to go along with 81 ground balls.
Salisbury will face No. 2 Rochester Institute for the Division III national championship on Sunday, May 28, in Foxboro, Mass. The title would be the second on Ternahan’s career, after he helped lead the Gulls to their 14-13 championship win over Tufts last spring.
