Sharp Shooter Lax Shooting & Position Camp registration open

Registration is under way for the Sharp Shooter Lax Shooting & Position Camp, set for its second summer, with the aim of offering the local youth a chance to either continue their game or try lacrosse for the first time right in their own back yard.

The camp put on by Indian River High School coaches Dave Spencer and Jim Dietsch will take place at Indian River High School later this month and will be open to all players of all experience levels.

USAV Junior Beach Tour to feature SMS volleyball standouts

The USAV Junior Beach Tour will get under way on the beach in front of the Carousel Hotel in Ocean City, Md., next weekend, featuring several members of the undefeated Selbyville Middle School volleyball team.

Raychel Ehlers, Camryn Ehlers, Piper Connors, Alexis Graybill and Emma Johnson will all test their skills when the tournament gets under way this Saturday, June 3, looking to earn a bid to the JBT championships, scheduled to be held on the beach in Fenwick Island this July.

Ternahan, SU men’s lax win second-straight NCAA title

The Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team earned their second-straight NCAA Division III championship title with a 15-7 win over Rochester Institute on Sunday, May 28.

It was also the second-straight title for Bethany Beach native and SU senior LSM Andrew Ternahan, who finished the game with an assist and four ground-balls for the ’Gulls.

The title was Salisbury’s 12th national championship in program history.

Paddle Second Chance returns to Holts Landing State Park

Paddle Second Chance will return to Holts Landing State Park in Millville this Saturday, June 24, set to raise funds for Operation Second Chance for the fifth straight year.

The event with feature family-fun competitive races in standup paddle-boarding (SUP), team SUP, kayak racing and a cornhole tournament, in addition to a post-race picnic, awards ceremony and live music.
