James George “Jim” Vardoulakis, 88, of Ocean View, Del., formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at his home. He was born in Baltimore, Md., on Jan. 12, 1929, son of the late George Vardoulakis and Agnes (Lamones) Vardoulakis.
Vardoulakis graduated from Patterson Park High School in Baltimore and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a self-employed barber who owned Millville Barber Shop and was proud to have his daughter and grandson work with him. He enjoyed cooking, cutting hair, traveling to Florida and spending time with his family. Vardoulakis also loved his customers and made several close friendships through the barbershop.
In addition to his parents, Vardoulakis was preceded in death by the love of his life, Rosemary Vardoulakis, in 2013, and two brothers, Gus and Christopher Vardoulakis. He is survived by three children, Stella Vardoulakis of Millville, George Michael Vardoulakis and his wife, Michelle, of Reisterstown, Md., and Tresa Jamie Cusimano of Millville; nine grandchildren, Constance Harrington and her husband, Gavin, Elyse Nickell and her husband, Josh, Alex Eckenrode and her husband, Greg, Michael Vardoulakis, Paul Cusimano, Maria Cusimano, Morgan Aasen, Nicholas Aasen and Matthew Aasen; and two great grandchildren, Kaleb and Sofia Harrington.
A visitation was scheduled for June 13, 2017, with prayer service on June 14, 2017, both at Melson Funeral Services in Ocean View, Del. Entombment was to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del. Condolences may be made sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
