On Tuesday, June 13, 2017, God called John H. Jackson, 83, from his earthly home to his eternal resting place. He was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Laurel, Del., son of Ida Jackson and Harley Hickman. He was a native of Laurel until moving to Millsboro, Del., in 1960. He relocated to Ocean View, Del., in 2004.

Jackson loved attending church and loved God. He attended Union Wesley United Methodist Church in Clarksville, Del. He attended various events and loved camp, whether it was at Union Wesley or Frankford. He also enjoyed socializing with others. His favorite greetings were “Hey, Chief” or “What’s happening, Chief?”
In addition to his parents, Jackson was preceded in death by his siblings, Helen Elizabeth Jackson and Wesley “Yoc” Jackson; a very special aunt, Mary Jackson; and extended family member Dennis J. Hockaday.
