Gary W. Law, 74, of Selbyville, Del., went to his heavenly home on Friday, June 23, 2017, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. He was born in Salisbury, Md., son of the late William A. Law and Virginia Mae (Long) Law and brother of the late Kenneth G. Law.
Law was a master craftsman employed by various construction and steel companies along the Eastern Shore, including the one owned and operated with his father and brother, the former I.W. Long & Son Inc. He was a member of St. Matthews by-the-Sea United Methodist Church in Fenwick Island, Md., and a life member of the Selbyville Vol. Fire Co.
Law is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sheryll B. Law; two daughters, Lorrie L. Tarr and her husband, Tim, of Middletown, Del., and Michelle E. Shorter and her husband, Rich, of Newark, Del.; five grandchildren, Ryan Law Tarr (his firstborn grandson), Megan E. Tarr (his firstborn granddaughter), Olivia G. “Dorito” Shorter, Kiera Shorter and Kyle Shorter; two great-grandchildren, Aiyana Shorter and Giovanni Caez; a sister, Kathy Law of Selbyville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Sandy Baker of Seaford, Del., and Jonathan and Donna Baker of The Villages, Fla.; Uncle Don and Aunt Jacquie Law; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Law’s life will be held Friday, June 30, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew by-the-Sea U.M. Church, 1000 Coastal Highway, Fenwick Island, Del., with the Rev. Bruce Miller and Rev. Rich Evans officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
