Richard “Dick” F. Kahn Sr., 89, of Ocean City, Md., died Monday, June 19, 2017, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md., He was born in Baltimore, Md., and was the son of the late William Joseph Kahn and Margaret Catherine (Necesson) Kahn.
Kahn served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and had been a salesman for several car dealerships over the years. He was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Ocean City, the Ocean City Elks, Ocean City American Legion and Let’s Dance Club in Baltimore, and a former member of the Colt Corral in Glen Burnie, Md., He loved to play poker and attend the Harpoon Hanna’s social gathering on Wednesdays. He was an avid Orioles, Ravens and Tar Heels fan.
Kahn was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Carroll. He is survived by his wife, Anna Catherine Thompson of Ocean City; three sons, Richard Kahn Jr., Joseph Kahn and James Kahn, all of Glen Burnie; a daughter, Deborah Koontz of Baltimore, Md.; a stepson, Vernon Thompson of Baldwin, Md.; a stepdaughter, Nance Levin of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Margaret Mary Mather of Bel Air, Md.; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled for June 23, 2017, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Ocean City, Md., with the Rev. Paul Jennings officiating. Burial was to follow on June 26, 2017, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Glen Burnie, Md.
