Raymond W. Thibeault, 78, of Bethany Beach, Del., formerly of Glen Burnie, Md., passed away peacefully, on Friday, June 30, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, at his home. He was born March 6, 1939, in Central Falls, R.I., son of the late Francis W. Thibeault and the late Germaine (Barnabe) Thibeault.
Thibeault proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He retired from the U.S. Department of Defense in 1992, after 30 years of service as a linguist.
Thibeault loved his life at the beach and enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Mason Dixon VFW Post 7234 in Ocean View, Del., and St. Ann Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, where he served as an usher and volunteered his time during the annual bazaar. He also volunteered his time at Mariner’s Bethel U.M. Church’s Feed My Sheep ministry.
In addition to his parents, Thibeault was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally A. Thibeault, in 1989. He is survived by his second wife of 27 years, Patricia A. (Dodson) Thibeault; eight children, Dalena Jenkins and her husband, Steven, of Pasadena, Md., Tom Thibeault and his wife, Bridget, of Gambrills, Md., John Thibeault and his wife, Christie, of Severn, Md., Lori Hancock and her husband, Ross, of Orlando, Fla., Kim Heinecke of Bethany Beach, Jodi Holtz and her husband, Steve, of Severna Park, Md., John Smith and his wife, Dana, of Saugerties, N.Y., and Michael Thibeault and his wife, Natalie, of Laurel, Md.; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Sunday, July 9, 2017, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home, 421 Crain Highway S.E., Glen Burnie, Md. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 10, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7436 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, Glen Burnie. Interment with military honors will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, Md.
