F. William Simpson, 86, of Bishopville, Md., died Thursday, June 22, 2017, at home. He was born in Salisbury, Md., son of the late Carroll W. Simpson and Mariah (Adams) Simpson.
Simpson retired after 20 years at Public Service Electric & Gas in Salem, N.J., as a nuclear controls instrument technician. He had also been in the jewelry business for 27 years and had worked for Honeywell in Florida, building the guidance system for Polaris weapons.
Williams is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred M. Simpson of Bishopville; two sons, David Simpson of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Craig Simpson of Middletown, Del.; a sister, Peggy Cartwright of Salisbury; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
