Martha Ann Clogg, 80, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away in the comfort of her home, with family members by her side, on Thursday, June 29, 2017. She was born in Dagsboro on Aug. 20, 1936, to the late Chester Lee and Cordelia Brumbley Clogg.
She retired from work for the State of Delaware, where she was a laundry supervisor at the Stockley Center. During her earlier years, she also worked at Snow White Laundry, Dollar General and the S&J Restaurant.
Clogg was a member of the Journey Wesleyan Church and a 41-year member of the Dagsboro Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Clogg was an outstanding woman, excellent cook and the neighborhood mom to all the local kids. She always had a smile, never met a stranger, was outgoing and the monarch of her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, John Clogg, in 2011, and her five siblings, Russell Clogg, Jean McCabe, Maude Moore, Charles Clogg and Kendall Clogg. She is survived by four children, David Allen Clogg and his wife, Paula, of Dagsboro, Barbara Jean Shupp and her husband, Brad, also of Dagsboro, Deliah Townsend and her husband, Glenn, of Millsboro, Del., and Donna Robbins and her husband, Bernie Riley, also of Dagsboro; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild and one on the way; two special friends, Joan McBroom and Eloise Carpenter; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A visitation was scheduled for July 2, 2017, with services on July 3, 2017, at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, Del. Burial was to follow at Dagsboro’s Redmen Memorial Cemetery.
