Ricky Scott Stone, 72, of Millsboro, Del., passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017, in his home surrounded by family.
Stone had moved from West Virginia to Laurel, Del., when he was 8. He attended Laurel High School. He was a retired member of the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters LU#782. He owned and operated Rick’s Plumbing & Repair Service in Millsboro for more than 25 years, until he retired in May of 2016. He was a member of Delaware Mobile Surf Fisherman for more than 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved hosting gatherings for family and friends.
Stone was preceded in death by his parents, Wilma Irene and Andrew Scott Stone; a sister, Judy Carmean; and a daughter, Kim Drayton. He was a loving husband to Anita Louise Stone for 38 years and a wonderful father to his children, Quintin Stone of Laurel Del., Kim Hall and her husband, Mickey, of Princess Anne, Md., Dee Weitzel of Salisbury Md., and Terri Jensen and husband, Chris, of Lewes, Del. He is also survived by three sisters, Netta Jane Lind of Willards, Md., Andrea Burgess of Laurel and Jennifer Myers and her husband, Michael, of Laurel; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 2 p.m. at The Georgia House Restaurant, 119 Main Street, in Millsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Maryland or Delaware Coastal Hospice.
