Richard E. Seifert Sr., 71, of Selbyville, Del., died Friday, July 7, 2017, at home, with his wife by his side. He was born on July 16, 1945, in Baltimore, Md., son of the late John F. Seifert Sr. and Ida L. (Bloom) Seifert.
Seifert worked at UPS for 19 years and then relocated to Ocean City, Md., in 1989, working for BEST Motels for 20 years. For six years prior to his death, he worked at Walmart in Berlin, Md. He was also a member of Bethel Tabernacle Church in Frankford, Del.
In addition to his parents, Seifert was preceded in death by his brother and sisters John “Sonny” Seifert Jr., Margaret Zill and Dorothy Imhoff. He is survived by his loving wife, Claudia Seifert of Selbyville; his children, Richard E. Seifert Jr. and his wife, Tammy, of Crown Point, Ind., Nicole Brown and her husband, Fred, of Baltimore, Md., Rhonda Walsh and her husband, Cory, of Selbyville and Michael Getz Jr. and his wife, Meghan, of Ellicott City, Md.; a brother and sister, David “Bobby” Seifert and his wife, Sissy, and Frances “Sis” Houghting, all of Baltimore; 10 grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and family members.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Tabernacle Church, 34180 Omar Road, Frankford, Del.
