Robert P. Kannengieser, 88, of Millsboro, Del., and formerly of Long Island, N.Y., Scottsdale, Ariz., and Las Vegas, Nev., passed away on July 2, 2017, gently, in the care of his family and the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Lillian and Alphonse Kannengieser. He was married to his beloved wife, Alice, who preceded him in death.
Kannengieser was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army.
He retired as assistant Postmaster of Medford, N.Y., and was a life member and former post commander of VFW Post 2937, also in Medford. He was also a fourth-degree in the Knights of Columbus. He was always the comedian and life of the party. He loved to be laughing. He lived a full life and will be laid to rest with the love of his life, Alice.
Kannengieser is survived by his son, Robert E. Kannengieser; his daughter, Alice M. Videlock, and son-in-law, Michael; grandchildren Kerri Beth, Colin and Ryan; and extended family members and friends.
