George M. Driscoll, 87, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Claymont, Del., passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Harbor Healthcare in Lewes, Del. He was born Aug. 12, 1929, in Erie, Pa., son of the late George Henry Driscoll and Ellen (Stender) Driscoll.
Driscoll proudly served his country during the Korean War, in the U.S. Army. He retired as a foreman with General Chemical Company in Marcus Hook, Pa., and moved to Millsboro. Driscoll enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Driscoll was preceded in death by a brother, Allan Driscoll. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Ann (Thompson) Driscoll; three children, William Wright of Millsboro, Deborah Sarver of Wilmington, Del., and G. Brian Driscoll and his wife, Danielle, of Claymont, Del.; eight grandchildren, Christine, Sean, Megan, Lauren, Bryan, Justin, Nicholas and Conner; six great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Jean Nichols and her husband, Nick, of Newark, Del., Robert Driscoll and his wife, Virginia, of California, Brenda Cain of New Castle, Del., and Daniel Driscoll and his wife, Rita, of Greenwood, Del.
A service will be held Friday, July 21, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Del.
