DeWitt R. Wolfe, 88, of Dagsboro, Del., died on July 28, 2017, at 9 p.m. He was born July 11, 1929, in Rehoboth Beach, Del., to the late Edward and Lucinda Johnson Wolfe.
He lived in Clarksville, Del., for 20 years and moved to Dagsboro in 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1951 to 1953, during the Korean War. He retired from Local 2012 as a carpenter after serving with them for 25 years.
Wolfe had a love for working in his garden or workshop and fishing out on the boat. His true love was spending time with his wife of 61 years and his family.
Wolfe was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Russell and Jack Wolfe, and a sister, Genevieve. He is survived by his wife, Arneva M. Wolfe; three daughters, Deborah L. Hall and her husband, Clay A. Hall, of Dagsboro, Joyce A. Wooters and her husband, Glenn, of Greenwood, Del., and Rita H. Kucek and her husband, Michael, of Dover, Del.; his grandchildren, Holly Hammond and her husband, Brandon, of Georgetown, Del., Melissa Collins (and J.D. Morrill) of Greenwood, Cole Hall of Dagsboro, Brandon Kucek of Milford, Del., Ryan Kucek of Dover and Matt Wooters of Greenwood; and great-grandchildren Isaiah Wooters, Payton and Braelyn Morrill, and Isabella and Colton Hall.
A funeral service and celebration of Wolfe’s life will be held on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at noon at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, Del. Friends may call for viewing and visitation at 11 a.m. the Rev. Clifton Toomey will officiate.
