Elizabeth “Betsy” Vitalo (known as “Nell” to her mother) of Long Neck, Del., formerly of Newark, Del., passed away at age 29 on Friday, July 28, 2017.
Her passions were anime, drawing, tattoos, dance and music. For years, Vitalo participated in the Polar Bear Plunge and raised money for the Special Olympics. She touched many people’s hearts. She was beautiful, free-spirited and an artist who loved new adventures. She enjoyed walking her two fur babies, Daisy and Nan, and everyone in the neighborhood loved them.
Vitalo and her mother not only had a mother-daughter bond, but they were each other’s best friend. The connection and love they shared was so strong it could move mountains.
Her passing has left many hearts broken, and she will be deeply missed by her mother, Theresa “Terri” Vitalo-Saienni; her daughter, Lita Anderson; her uncles, Christopher “Uncie C” Vitalo, and his wife, Jennifer, and Michael Vitalo and his wife, Angel McCambridge; a cousin, Michael “Mikey” Vitalo; close friends Lou Rufo (adopted Grandpop), Jamie Anderson, Keith Morris, Ali Martin and Jesser, and so many others.

A celebration of Vitalo’s life will be held Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at 6 p.m. at Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, Del., where friends and family may gather after 5 p.m. Interment will be private.
