Barbara Ann Bittenbender, 89, of Selbyville, Del., died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Compassionate Care Hospice in Wilmington, Del. She was born in Kansas City, Mo., daughter of the late William B. and Lillian (Divokey) Larson.

She retired from work as an accountant for the State of Maryland and was member of the Ocean City (Md.) Elks and the Moose Lodge in Roxana, Del.

Bittenbender is survived by her husband of 53 years, Conrad D. Bittenbender of Selbyville; two sons, William W. Smith Jr. and his wife, Pam, of Crisfield, Md., and Rick Smith and his wife, Rosalie Parker, of Lusby, Md.; two daughters, Cindy A. Brunt and her husband, Gary, of Severna Park, Md., and Kimberly J. VanPelt and her husband, Richard, of Canyon Lake, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was scheduled for Aug. 2, 2017, at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, Del., with the Rev. James Van Der Wall officiating. Burial was to be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Del. Condolences may be sent online at www.bishophastingsfh.com.
